Oh dudes, I just saw the trailer for the Fright Night remake, and it's all "brooding" and "fraught" and "menacing" and there are explosions and car chases and I thought it would be cheesy 80's goodness but now I kind of feel like Colin Farrell just cheated on me with the entire Twilight fandom.

I have to go cry now.

Oh gawd, say it isn't so.

Brooding and boring and devoid of homoeroticism. Or eightiesness. And Evil Ed? Whose going to frolic on beds pretending to be somebody's mother in a orange wig and proclaim with such feverish energy; "Dinner is in the oven?"

Seriously, wtf is up with all the crossbows/misc fighting gear and stuff? What happened to the poor kid being completely alone in the house, nobody believing him? What happened to polite/reasonable vamp that seduces a critically insecure teen in a alleyway?

I've been robbed.

Evil Ed better not fail me, although it seems he's lost his borderline craziness. He seems all savvy and serious, like a less gruff Edgar Frog with glasses.

...I...I'm not sure what to say...

I saw the original movie in the theatre *cough*inthe80s*cough* and it was such a fun, fun movie...I still warble "strangers in the night" (just that phrase, 'cause I don't know the words) and think of Chris Sarandon whistling that tune in this movie.

And I'm with redeyedfeline about the crossbows and other shit - I think I really need to re-watch the original because I really don't remember them being that well-armed... O.O

I could be wrong...
