An interesting bit of Van Helsing-related news here. Personally I prefer Van Helsing/Carlimir to Van Helsing/Dracula, but never mind.
In Angel-related news, have just seen the episode where Holtz takes baby Connor dimension-hopping. Thank God. Also, Angel trying to smother Wesley with a pillow is hilarious. Just can't take David Boreanaz seriously at all in that scene.
Still hate Fred.
Am also wondering if it was intentional that the creepy little girl Angel and Lilah meet in the White Room looks like a younger version of Eve.

Date: 2004-07-20 11:16 am (UTC)I never managed to work out who I thought Holtz reminded me of. Awwh... baby Connor.
Why? :) Any particular stage of Fred? How do you feel about the blue version?
Not thought about that... hmm... knowing the Jossverse it's probably foreshadowing or something.

Fred just annoys me. That whole crush on Angel thing made me want to kill her, then it was how sickening she and Gunn were - that conversation on the phones about which state was better? If I was Wesley, I would have thrown something at them even if I didn't have a stalkertastic obsession with Fred. Plus, "Pancake kiss?" Gag me with a canoe. Then there was the scene where she tells Wesley that the prophecy about Angel killing Connor was false - "It was all for nothing, look at me, I'm a sanctimonious bitch."
Everything she does gets on my nerves, from the way she was all "The visions aren't from the Powers!" in the episode where WR&H are sending Cordy the killer visions to get Angel to rescue Billy, right up until how whiny she was on her deathbed in Hole in the World ("I'll be there in a heartbeat."/"Assuming I still have one." Oh my God, shut up Fred!).
Pretty much the only time I liked her was in that first episode of season 4, where she and Gunn had to take over AI and she kept everything going. And zapped Connor with a taser repeatedly, because that was funny. And she didn't annoy me in season 2, mostly because I didn't realise I'd have to put up with her for another three years.
Illyria, however, is cool.

I loved Illyria. I know that Fred was supposed to be the antithesis to the more confident Cordelia or seductive Darla but they had better storylines and relationships. I can't forgive her breaking poor little Wesley's heart - the harlot! Not that he wasn't thinking about Angel anyway.

Illyria was great - Wesley's all, go to the lab, and Illyria's like, "I go because it suits me, bitch!" and Wesley's all, "I am emasculated". Plus the bit in the last episode with the headtilt and cutting away to imply massive violence.
And I get that she was supposed to contrast with Cordy and Darla, but there's a world of difference between being shy and just being annoying.
*snerk* Everyone thinks about Angel. Hell, I think even Angel thinks about Angel.

Just imagine what he was like when he could see his own reflection.
