I am shocked and appalled by the fact that there is a sequel to Underworld. I'm sorry, but did everyone concerned in that decision have the segment of their brain that detects things that are shit removed? The thing that annoyed me most about Underworld was that, by all rights, I should have found that movie awesome. Vampires versus Werewolves? That is my kind of movie, right there! I mean, sure, anyone with half a brain could tell you that the werewolves would win, vampires being by their very nature too inclined towards sighing and moping and having angst, whereas werewolves have no angst and simply chow down on your tasty innards, but come on! The whole premise was a recipe for tacky gore-filled awesomeness, and in the end, it just sucked big fat donkey cock all over the big screen.

And really, if any schlocky psuedo-horror movie of the last couple of years deserved a sequel, it should have been Van Helsing. I mean, they already removed the worst thing about that film by having the decency to kill off Anna, paving the way for more awesome hijinx and, of course, the inevitable return of Roxula. A shame they wasted the awesomely pretty Velkan, but still, my point is: better than Underworld, you dozy fucks!

I haven't seen either film, but Van Helsing is the one I really wanted to see, because of the director. I remember Underworld getting petty crappy critical reviews so I wondered why they made a second one, but it must have done pretty well in sales.

Stephen Sommers was a good friend of my former neighbors (I moved after only one year renting that house with another girl) and he was there a lot plus too many MN politicians at their big old parties they'd host. Since we shared a driveway they'd literally role up the red carpet give valet parking and we'd have a hard time getting in and out. Sucked. Well, mostly because never got to meet Stephen, lol.

My neighbors were asswipes of the highest order. Not kidding. Their daughter constantly referred to anyone of lower class than she peasants and she wasn't joking. They never shopped in Minnesota. Designer clothing from NYC and Europe was what the daughters always wore.

I wanted their house, though. *sigh* The guy was an interior designer and all the wood for the floors and whatnot he made over in Indonesia and had sent over. The little decorative grooves in the wood were just awesome and I've never seen anything like that before. My roommmate was their housekeeper. She came and got me one day to give a tour of the house while the parents and both of their daughters were gone.

I think living there was as close as I've ever come to having front row seats to the filthy rich. Bringing up Stephen makes me remember them and that's not always a good thing.
