Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year or the equivilent winter-time celebrations. I have been sworn to secrecy as to any events that may or may not have occured in these parts, but I can tell you now that it involved the Pope, a giant mecha bunny rabbit and a sentient, and also thoroughly evil, fridge entity. Also pizza, Baileys and more Dukes of Hazzard than can possibly be good for anyone.

Because even though my grant came through, the fucking Law Society rejected my application for late admission. So either I drop out, or I defer until next year, and I can't stand another year of this crap.

No, because I sent my membership application off with my grant application as it's the IoM government who pays that £80 membership fee. They mailed it off when the decided to fund my course but the LS rejected it out of hand because they're fucking cunts.

I already wrote to them and called them and they won't do jackshit. I don't care, I applied to temp agencies today and I've already got four job offers so they can go fuck themselves. I have three litres of Baileys and a genetic disposition towards alcoholism that says I can drink myself to death before they get a single penny out of me.

Actually, they don't. When the Law Society saves jump, they have to jump. Not that they really give a shit, they get their ?8k whether I'm there or not.

Right now I don't really feel like doing anything, jobwise. I mean, I just want a nice wagemonkey job that I can go home and forget all about at five o'clocl. Maybe later I'll figure something out but right now I'm so pissed off at the world that I don't want more to do with it than I have to.

I'm working late tomorrow and Friday but I might be free over the weekend. Will drop you an email/text when I have my rota.

No, I (or rather the IoM govt) have to pay the whole £8k now. The IoM has a discretion to require me to pay the money back to them, depending on how good my reasons are for leaving, but you can't get blood out of a stone, as they say, and I don't have any money for them to get. So the joke's on them. Pricks, every last one of them.

It's not the fees that are the reason I have to leave, it' the LS membership, and apparently the deadline was November 30. Nice of them to, you know, tell me that.

Well I don't know if I'll have to work this weekend or not, since my rota will change tomorrow, so I may in fact have the entire weekend off.
