I'm so glad I'm not the only one who makes fun of the pauses!
I used to be all about the MK scenes til they became OBVIOUSLY formulaic. Like, they don't even switch the formulas anymore. It's just
"I talked to MK" [MK dialog of information and waiting/baiting on Nick to figure something out] "could you send me that?" [MK either says something akin to "already did" or "really?" and then he either gives her something else to check on, or they farewell and Skype-out-sound.
I didn't check out Rabbits yet, and if it's THAT awful, I'll probably skip it. ........but out of curiosity, I've gotta check it out. I wanna see just how shit-tastic it is XD
i think the highlight of rabbits was the pimp they did for tanis and also stamps.com where the narrator was like "you can send fanmail to your favourite podcast declaring whether youre team geoff or team mk"
like, one, im not going to be sending POSTAL MAIL to a podcast, and two, geoff has been missing since the end of season two and given how slow to non existent plot development is, we wont see him again before the heat death of the entire universe, which will occur during A MASSIVE MID SENTENCE PAUSE, NIC, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, NIC, ALSO ALL KNOWN MATTER IS BURNING AROUND US I DONT NEED SOCKS, SHHHHHH.
i dont even know why they do it, other than to artificially pad the run time, but plenty of great podcasts run about 25 minutes and do just fine without the extra length. heck, tales of thattown is usually ten to fifteen and its GREAT.
This is the best rant about a podcast ever! I have no idea why they draw out each episode so much, either. Every time I start an episode, I see how long it is and roll my eyes. Then halfway through the second half, I see how much longer I have til the end and roll my eyes into a straight-up backflip out the window.
