There was totally a basking shark off Marine Drive today. He was swimming around near the base of the cliffs, just chillin' all like, "I'm a basking shark, I hang out in shallow waters 'cause I'm all big and shit!" and all these seal dudes were lying on the rocks watching him, just like, "Yeahhhhhh bro." It was amazing. I saw his fin!

They are allowed to think that they are all big and shit because they are pretty big and shit whilst remaining at all times cool!

I saw a adult and baby at sennan cove last summer and the summer before. I was like oh look there's three and Steve was like no that's one big one with a huge gap between it's fins!

Yeah, they don't care about bumping into cliffs because THOSE CLIFFS ARE IRRELEVANT when you are an eleventy billion foot long basking shark! I couldn't get over how massive he was - it's one thing to hear a number and think, oh, thats a whole lot of shark, but seeing it and realising he is bigger than basically ALL YOUR LIFE is something else.

There's a lot of places around here with tidal pools, and there was a shark stuck in one once when we went. My husband proceeded to pick it up and scare the shit out of some tourists, lol.

I totally had a mental image when I read that of your husband grabbing a basking shark by his tail and just swinging a hundred feet of shark around randomly like some deranged Hulk/Aquaman hybrid while people fled screaming!

HA HA HA I love it! Since we've moved to the coast, he does actually go fishing for shark quite frequently, so they probably should fear him a bit.

...does he eat the sharks? Because you know when you eat something, you take in a little piece of its soul, so if he eats too much sharks, he could become a TERRIBLE MANSHARK HYBRID. Because science says that could happen.
