Dear shitty Bount filler arc: while putting up with your lame-ass fake vampires was bad enough, I absolutely cannot forgive you for making me be on Mayuri's side during a fight, not because he suddenly isn't creepy and horrifying, but because I just HATE ALL THE NEW CHARACTERS SO MUCH that the creepy scientist with the dead baby sword ends up becoming the lesser of two weevils.

Also, I cannot help but think it was a mistake to give the Big Emotional Investment subplot to the whole Kenpachi vs Emo Hoodie throwdown. Not that you could even call it a throwdown, since Kenpachi mostly didn't give a shit and just did some half-assed stabbing and then wandered away, probably because oh my God Emo Hoodie, shut your fucking mouth, nobody cares about your dead gay Captain anymore! But even if he had been slightly more engaged in his Big Dramatic Storyline of Flashbacky Woe, it still would have been stupid to give your main OMG SAD FEELINGS arc to Kenpachi. Kenpachi!

Dudes, my brother's cat just jumped on my bed and walked in front of my table lamp, creating this HUGE shadow on the wall in front of me and generally WIGGING ME OUT.

This new bit of my Eerie fic is not going well. Possibly its lack of cooperation is the reason I have watched the whole stupid Bount storyline. Possibly watching the whole stupid Bount storyline is the reason for its lack of cooperation. Bitterness!

The Bount filler arc is indeed annoying. At least it must be almost over now, and you can get back to everyone being their usual selves, I hope?

Come back, Aizen. All is forgiven.

There is the one with this new Captain. You can ignore that. (He dies, anyhow.)

Then there is a filler arc where everyone's zanpakutou take human form and start running around and fighting their owners. While this has all the usual annoyance factor of filler, it is entertaining to see what people's zanpakutou might look like if they were human-ish. Especially for the cases where they are very unlike their owners.

And there is a current filler arc that we're in the middle of which seems to involve a lunatic from Twelfth having created evil insane duplicates of some of the Captains. While this is also filler and crap, it has entertaining moments involving one's favourite Nice Guys being Not Very Nice, and is therefore a bit better than the Bount.

Ugh, it sucks so hard. Not only would I welcome Aizen back with open arms (the better to get viciously stabbed and then nastily taunted) it is now at the point where I would probably be quietly relieved to see Ichimaru or, god help me, Mayuri take centre-stage as the Big Bad for a while. Because Sick And Wrong is still better than Boring.

I don't mind the occasional filler episode, but oh God, when there's entire seasons of it, THE HORROR. Though I suppose at least this way I can skip massive chunks of the anime and still know that I can pick up the proper story later on.

The zanpakutou arc sounds quite fun though - I may have to look at that one. When does the pink haired tentacly Ishida-molester come in?

The pink-haired tentacly Ishida-molester shows up during what's known as the Arrancar/Hueco Mundo arc, where for various reasons our idiots heroes run off to Hueco Mundo to fight Aizen's forces. That starts around episode 110, and is from the manga (not filler), though the animators have added a few bits here and there.

The Arrancar (Aizen's mob of personalized minions) include some who are lame and some who are cool. :)

When I read "mob of personalized minions", for a second I imagined that they'd come with his name and perhaps birthday or seasonal greetings on them.

I doubt this is the case, and that makes me sad.
