Oh dudes, I couldn't even watch the last couple of minutes of Game of Thrones tonight - as soon as Ronan started melting down his blingage, I knew something horrible was coming, so I covered my ears and shut my eyes and basically waited until the screaming stopped and I heard the end-credits theme start playing.
Was it totally gross? Is he alive? I have this phobia of shit happening to people's faces - I've seen and read Watchmen dozens of times and always looked away or skipped the page where Rorschach pours chip fat on that prisoner. I nearly fainted during the Avatar episode with Ko the Face Stealer and again during the Doctor Who episode with the thing in the telly that sucked people's faces away. Can someone who's read the books please warn me if I'm going to have to deal with face-meltage next week?

Date: 2011-05-23 11:06 pm (UTC)I've not seen the episode yet, it's recorded, but not gonna watch til at least Wednesday. Got the book, but not there yet. My advice, watch and see, or else it'll end up way worse in your head. (Or a nasty shock next week.) Unless it's horrible, in which case stay away... not that that's real useful advice... ;)

Date: 2011-05-23 11:12 pm (UTC)Nooo, I have to get someone else to watch it first - if the grossness is implied, I'll watch it properly but if it's graphic and horrible I need to be prepared!

Viserys demands his crown, and Drogo obliges, while Dany translates. "You shall have a golden crown that men shall tremble to behold." At first Viserys is eager to get what he wants, but then Drogo empties out a cooking pot and places a golden belt into it. The belt is melted back to liquid gold. Drogo then pours the gold onto Viserys's head, killing him. Dany says that Viserys was not a dragon. "Fire cannot kill a dragon."
So, not alive, and so probably unlikely to make a repeat appearance, but how gross it was to actually watch, dunno...

Date: 2011-05-26 12:12 pm (UTC)I still haven't gotten up the nerve to watch those last few minutes - my mum's seen it and said it wasn't that bad, but this is the woman who let me watch The Fly as a toddler and was suprised when I woke up screaming every night for a week and have always been freaked out by insects.
