Well, it looks like I can look forward to starting my career as a full-time phone monkey even sooner than expected. My parents still haven't filed their Financial Information form, so the Isle of Man Government has rejected my application for tuition fees and maintenance. I owe the BPP £4000 for this semesters teaching, and there's no way I can raise that, let alone the other four grand I need to complete my course. At best I'll have to defer, at worst, well... would you like fries with that?

Drop out. I can't get a loan over here because I'm technically an international student, I've never had a full time job, I have no security and I already have a 2k overdraft, and I can't get one back home because we don't do student loans and again, I have no security or full-time job to make me creditworthy. I have some savings, about enough to cover half of what I already owe the BPP, and I'm going to talk to Claire about maybe being able to pay off the rest in installments.

You know, it would have been bad enough to screw this up on my own, but to get fucked over because my parents can't fill out a fucking form is a Goddamn joke.

Aren't they willing to cover you? I mean they do know don't they? - have you spoken to them (or shouted)

I'm sure Claire will help in every way she can and seeing as this isn't your fault but a government maintenance thing I'm certain they will allow you to do it in installments - have you emailed her?

Oh, I'm pretty sure they know. In fact, I'm pretty sure most of the island knows, given the fact that I called and screamed at them for a good twenty minutes after I found out. Apparently the reason they didn't submit the form was because they were trying to get a better rate on their income tax this year. Which, you know, makes me feel so much better; hey, my life is fucked but at least you saved a couple of hundred quid. *thumbs up*

On plus side, DoE is letting me resubmit my application and Claire has promised to try and work something out with the BPP as far as paying them what I owe if my application gets rejected. And the apartment is paid up until July 1st, so I don't have to become a hobo travelling the rails just yet.

i think they did the right thing though, i mean, they really did Need to save that money and you really do Need to learn the error of your ways in having a verbal contract with people as likely to fuck you over (again) as your parents. Next time you go near them make them sign a list of conditions they have to keep to or like, they have to go to jail.
