It would be terrible if the zombie virus could jump between species. An outbreak at Seaworld would be particularly bad - a regular whale heave itself onto dry land and dies. A zombie whale heaves itself onto dry land, it's already dead, and that motherfucker is STILL COMING FOR YOU.

...I would totally watch that movie.

Have you tried the Newsflesh zombie trilogy by Mira Grant? Near-future setting, and the zombie virus does jump between species.

Plus lots and lots of guns. And good writing.

The books are Feed, Deadline, and Blackout.

Kismet! I bought Feed a couple of weeks ago on my trawl of the charity shops. I didn't realise it had zombie wildlife though - it's ttally getting bumped up the list once I finish slogging my way through Harry Potter and the Who The Hell Cares.

I JUST FINISHED IT THIS MORNING OH MY GOD! Luckily it was so cold everyone's eyes were watering when they got in to work, otherwise I would have had to explain that I was in tears over th ending of a zombie book!
