Mar. 16th, 2005 07:46 pmYou know, one of the ways I've always justified the fact that I spend so much money on books is by telling myself that a) it's a lot less than most other students spend on alcohol and entrance fees to nightclubs and clothes and suchlike, and b) even if it doesn't make me any smarter, at least it doesn't actively make me more retarded.
So, today having started off in quite a shitty fashion, I went into town to buy some shinies to cheer myself up, and I'm sitting in Borders reading A Home at the End of the World (which you should all buy, and alos watch the film, on pain of being exiled to smelly Bradford for the rest of your days) and killing time while I wait for Jess to finish her lectures, and I realise, nearly an hour later, that I've been humming "Look out Cleveland" under my breath for the entire time.
I fail at life.
On the other hand, I win at life because, despite having seen the cutest guineapig Ever when I went to the store to get snacks for Thlayli, I did not buy him. Seriously, he was So Cute. He was all black and white except for one side of his face which was brown and speckly. I wanted to take him home and call him Erik, but I figured one pet is probably enough for someone who moves around every year. So I bought Thlayli one of those wooden house things instead. Am slightly worried that I might be turning into a Crazy Rabbit Lady, but did not buy rabbit harness and lead, so suspect I am safe for the moment.
I still really want to get him on of those rabbit seesaws and a gravity feeder, though.

Date: 2005-03-19 12:41 pm (UTC)LOL... amen to that! Same here... I just don't have any more space left for books - and still I buy new ones right and left. *sigh* Last week I bought "Ink Heart" by Cornelia Funke (in German of course). Haven't started reading yet, but will do that as soon as I have finished reading the "Sharpe Companion." ;)
I also got your lovely card (see my LJ entry)! Thank you so much! *hugs*
