Jan. 16th, 2005 08:42 pmHey, look, it's one of them tharr personality tests.
Your Existing Situation
Pursues her objectives and her own-self-interest with stubborn determination; refuses to compromise or make concessions.
Only because the concessions people want me to make are retarded and suggested to me by retards who are probably also Irish and/or my mother.
Your Stress Sources
The existing situation is disagreeable. Feels lonely and uncertain as she has an unsatisfied need to ally herself with others whose standards are as high as her own, and wants to stand out from the rank and file. This sense of isolation magnifies the need into a compelling urge, all the more upsetting to her self-sufficiency because of the restraint she normally imposes on herself. Since she wants to demonstrate the unique quality of her own character, she tries to suppress this need for others and affects an attitude of unconcerned self-reliance to conceal her fear of inadequacy, treating those who criticize her behavior with contempt. However, beneath this assumption of indifference she really longs for the approval and esteem of others.
Oh noes, I pretend to be cool and standoffish, but really I's just lonely and misunderstood. *smokes cigerette, wears leather bondage gear and beats small boys with paper fan* OMG WON'T SOMEBODY LOVE ME PLZKTHX?!?!?
Your Restrained Characteristics
Egocentric and therefore quick to take offense.
Becomes distressed when her needs or desires are misunderstood and feels that she has no one to turn to or rely on. Egocentric and therefore quick to take offense.
Circumstances are such that she feels forced to compromise for the time being if she is to avoid being cut off from affection or from full participation.
Wow, they mentioned egocentric TWICE. I'm offended.
Your Desired Objective
Needs a peaceful environment. Wants release from stress, and freedom from conflicts or disagreement. Takes pains to control the situation and its problems by proceeding cautiously. Has sensitivity of feeling and a fine eye for detail.
True, but then, who doesn't want release from stress and freedom from conflicts? Has anyone ever thought, "Man, there is just not enough stress in my life. Gotta get me some stress"?
Your Actual Problem
Wants to be valued and respected, and seeks this from a close and peaceful association of mutual esteem.
Uh... that doesn't sound like a problem to me. I mean, a close and peaceful association of mutual esteem sounds like a good bet for being valued and respected. Of course, I'd rather be feared and revered, but apparently that's a facade and I just need love and understanding.
Your Actual Problem #2
Disappointment at the non-fulfillment of her hopes and the fear that to formulate fresh goals will only lead to further setbacks have resulted in considerable anxiety. She is trying to escape from this into a peaceful and harmonious relationship, protecting her from dissatisfaction and lack of appreciation.
Well gee, that Law degree turned out to be a big ol' pile of wankiness. Gotta get me a MAYUN to make it all better.
Actually, I do want a new pet...

Date: 2005-01-18 03:22 pm (UTC)It does not. At no point in my "Existing Situation" section does it mention wearing indecently tight breeches, being a Great Big Hor, being from filthy Yorkshire, having a studly Irish boyfriend, scowling, sulking, bleeding, being slashy and crying like a bitch whenever things don't go my way.
Has an unsatisfied need to ally herself with others whose standards are as high as her own, and to stand out from the herd. This desire for preeminence isolates her and inhibits her readiness to give herself freely.
You know what this sounds like to me? Being criticised because you won't be friends with people you don't like.
well i Was the angel gabriel in my infant school nativity play...
I was one of the three wise men. I like to think it was because of my obvious genius, rather than because I was the sort of child that liked wearing fake beards.
Jack day. YES

Date: 2005-01-18 06:52 pm (UTC)*nodnod* It's like when people criticise you for being judgemental, what they really mean is, "How dare you have an opinion that is different from mine".
And fucktardery doesn't improve with age. Seriously. A college degree does not stop a person being the same dumbfuck you wished would get hit by lightening all through highscool.
