froodleOH MY GOD, HOW TOTALLY LOVELY IS JOHN CONNOLLY? For serious! He signed my books and he kissed me (yes, yes, on the cheek rather than a full-on snog but IT WILL COME IN TIME!) and he gave me a CD and wished me luck in my new job and agreed with me that Jay was a smug fuckwit and encouraged, nay, ordered me to skive off work for as long as possible and claimed to be God and we talked about hoboes and smelly people and China Mieville and oh my God it was so filled with glee!
Also, Liamneeson completely supports me because, while I was wandering around town waiting for it to be one o'clock, He encouraged me to go into various charity shops to check out the books and there was a first edition copy of Dark Hollow which is my absolute favouritest JC book and I was able to get it signed that very day and it was awesome.
In other news, for some reason James and I have decided that we will have a baby shower for Jess and Alan and Squidley. I do not recall how we got from "we should get them a box of chocolates and perhaps some nice smellies" to "let's decorate Froodle's flat with storks," but whatever. Actually, I have no storks. I have lots of bats and skeletons, though, so perhaps if I take the skeleton's legs and attach them to the bat's bodies it will suffice.
