Eerie Indiana headcanon #4: the reason none of Mary B. Carter's six marriages didn't work out had nothing to do with the fact that Tripp McConnall was her one true forever love. Mary B. Carter is a Holly Go Lightly-style commitmentphobe, and she probably ditched Tripp a couple of months into their afterlife-based romance. I'd make a joke about how she's probably having it off with Devon Wilde right now, but I'm pretty sure Devon's love-after-life is all Melanie, all the time.

Eerie Indiana headcanon #5: that weird brainwashing mind-control spell Tripp puts on the Tellers is something all ghosts in Eerie can do, and it's not limited to wrangling an invitation to dinner and a bed for the night. Lucky for Mars, Tripp's intentions were essentially benign, despite his use of stromg-arm tactics. A more malevolent spirit could have done a lot worse.

(the reason Grungy Bill doesn't use this power to aid his bank robbing scheme is that Grungy Bill is as rubbish at being a ghost as he was at being a bank robber. In case you were wondering.)
