OH! Also, has anyone else seen the preview for that new Teen Wolf TV show? It looks like Big Wolf on Campus but not a) funny and b) homoerotic, and since Big Wolf on Campus's entire appeal was based on the fact that it was a) hilarious and b) subtextually gayer than a bag of monkeys, I have a sad feeling inside me that tells me Teen Wolf will suck.

Hopefully I will be wrong, though. Americans, have you got it yet? Care to share your thoughts?

I saw the advert on Sky Living in the ad breaks between Supernatural, but at the moment it just says "coming soon" rather than an air date.

(I know what you mean - I'll totally watch it, even if it's just to bitch and whinge and rip it to shreds. And who knows, maybe it will turn out to be awesome. Right? Right?!)

We're up to episode 3 in the US (episode 4 premieres Monday) and I have to say that they show is actually really good. It wasn't as full of Big Gay Slash as Big Wolf On Campus but I already slashed with in the first few minutes. Then they introduced Big Brooding Guy and I slashed even more.

It attempts to put a realistic spin on the whole werewolf thing. And there's lacrosse, though I've never known a high school that plays it before so I have no clue what goes on in the games.

I've seen the trailers for that - I don't think I'm that interested in seeing though. Unless reviews tell me different.

I remember watching "Big Wolf on Campus" - my brother and sister used to watch it when they were younger. I was too old to watch it really but did anyway! It was fun. Merton was awesome!

Yeah, it looks VERY sucky based on that trailer, but I live in hope. Plus I kind of feel obligated to give anything werewolf-related at least a cursory glance.

I love Big Wolf on Campus - I actually bought a DVD recorder specifically to record it when it was still showing on Fox Kids, and I've still got the DVDs. I revisit it periodically and BASK in the greatness that is Merton J Dingle.

Is lacrosse that thing with nets on sticks? I always thought it looked like really aggressive butterfly catching - not a sport I would have expected to see the "cool" guys play in highschool.

He does end up with sort of a girlfriend with in the first few episodes (who turns out to be the daughter of werewolf hunters) but she's easy enough to look pass. But there is also the best friend and the brooding other werewolf. It's on MTV.

Lacrosse is the one with nets on sticks. I've never actually seen a game before though so I don't know the logistics behind it. Apparently they don't have football at that school, only lacrosse.

I played lacrosse at school! I thought it was girls only though. Always thought of it as vicious enough to be girls rugby - you get sticks to hit people with.

I always thought hockey was the girl version of rugby - at my school, it was actually MORE brutal to watch than rugby, because I always got the impression the girls were whacking the shit out of each other on purpose, whereas the boys just seemed enthusiastic.

Oh well, the guy from Big Wolf had a girlfriend too, but it never stopped the show from being gayer than a row of pink tents - at this point in my slashlife, I am adept at screening out the female love interests in favour of hot man-on-man action. Or teen-on-teen in this case, I guess.

Oh, we totally were - at least at my school.

We did in hockey too though. I accidentally hit someone in the mouth with a hockey stick once.

There might be another slash pairing in the future, depending on whether this alpha we've just heard about ends up being male or female. Either way he's 'wants' the teenwolf.

I'm thinking that whether or not lacrosse gets played depends on how far south you are. I could be wrong though.

A friend of mine once knocked a girl's front teeth out during a hockey game. To this day she claims it was an innocent mistake, but since she follows up any discussion of it by snickering, I disbelieve her.

Don't get me wrong, it gets boring in a couple of places but it was decently enjoyable. I think I'm gonna enjoy the fics that come out of this series.
