The lesson for today is thus: when someone at work asks what you're doodling on the back of a sign-in sheet, the correct answer is hardly ever "A comic about what would happen if Liam Neeson was God." Even if it happens to be true.
Liam doesn;t hate cute animals, he just doesn't see the need for a standing army of HOLY PALADIN MONKEYS! Which sucks for me, really, because I love monkeys.
You started it, monkey-hater! I was trying to come up with some really disturbing analogy like "You suck like Hornblower on (insert name here)'s cock", but pretty much all the pairings in Hornblower work and are hot except for him and his stalker wife, and presumably she lacks cock and so it wouldn't work. Like Hornblower, I am saddened by his wife's lack o' cock.
*headdesk* I have so been reading! I mean the word Paladin. Or the origin of the Holy Paladin Monkeys. As High Priest of The Church of Liamneeson, you are my Spiritual Advisor, so advise me, damnit!
Liamneeson advises that you go here to improve your knowledge.
Holy Paladin Monkeys are basically monkeys that fight for justice as defined by the Church of Liamneeson - sort of like those dudes in the Crusades, if they were monkeys.
I think I might change my job title to "Cleric". I've been watching Equilibrium, and Cleric just seems like a cooler word.
I don't know what Equilibrium is, but that would be better. Because "priestess" never fails to send my mind into Hercules and Xena fandom, and I get distracted by spending hours re-reading the Seeking Balance series by Scribe.
Equilibrium is this awesome film about a world in which humanity has all but eradicated our ability to feel strong emotions in an effort to finally create lasting peace. There's no war, no hate crimes, but no love or joy either.
Anyway, the Clerics are like the forces of order in society; they seek out "sense offenders" - people who feel too much - and execute them, and they're like ninjas but with guns and it's awesome.
Oh, God, nooooo~! Anything but the chick tracts! *spins out, memories of Halloween after Halloween spent stuffing candy into Zip-Loc baggies with the Message of the Lord Crammed Into Conveniently-Sized Booklets running through her head*
Chick tracts are awesome! They have this wonderfully histronic tone to them, and you can tell the creator is completely invested in what he's saying - I just imagine him sitting there in his dingle office cubicle, gnawing on his pen, fretting about all the innocent young souls being lured to their doom by Harry Potter and role-playing games, and then his boss comes by and yells at him over his weekly reports being late and the artist is all, WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN?! and his boss rolls his eyes disdainfully because he cares more about operating a successful business than protecting the weak-minded against the wiles of the Dark Lord and the artist is left sobbing with frustration and tearing his hair out at the wicked ways of Western civilization.
