Boo, I suck. You'd think I would learn, "No sad films before bedtime", but no, here I am all sniffly and puffy-eyed because I stupidly decided to watch A Home at the End of the World after my bath. Sob!

In other news, who would win in a fight, Elvis or Mister Wu's piggies? The world needs to know.

I was toying with finishing this movie, I had started watching it but this disc became unplayable(damn you Netflix!) But if it's a double hankie film...I dunno.

It's well worth finishing. I shrink from using the phrase "tear-jerker", as to me that implies the kind of films that grab you by the collar and shake you while yelling "Cry! Cry now! Like an uptown junkie experiancing his first shower rape!" and use over-sentimentality as a substitute for plot and acting and dialogue and characters you actually give a damn about. But really, it is a beautiful, genuinely moving film, perfectly understated and criminally under-appreciated. If you've ever seen Dear Frankie, that should give you an idea of AHatEotW's quiet charm.

That said, have tissues on-hand. You may well have need of them.

Do you write? You should really become a journalist or something. You have an awesome way with words that is descriptive and clever, that comes across with an honesty I rarely see in journalism
