Aug. 19th, 2013 08:00 amDudes! I was just watching Heart on a Chain, and you know that bit at the end where Mars and Melanie have their first successful kiss and right after, she breaks up with him?
As she's walking away, Mars voice-overs that it was the first and last time he ever kissed Melanie Monroe, and in the background you can see the Grim Reaper walking across the cemetery in the same direction Melanie was headed when she left.
I've always assumed he meant that it was the last time because they never got back together, but now, what with the Spectre of Death and the weeping statue on Devon's grave, I'm thinking that maybe Melanie never made it out of the Eerie cemetery alive, and that that is what Mars meant about life, death and growing up being all kinds of mixed-up somehow.
