Jun. 18th, 2007 02:24 pmA fun and rather 80s-tastic weekend. Managed to watch both Gremlins movies (I was in need of comedy after watching Heat and Goodfellas back-to-back) - how cute is Corey Feldman? Aww! I had forgotten how much I love Gremlins 2 - the shadow-puppets, and Hulk Hogan, and the film critic getting mauled after he slags off Gremlins 1, and Big Daddy Luthor as a good guy! This was obviously when BDL was young and idealistic, before his spirit was broken down by having a ginger kid with asthma. That would turn anyone evil. Also, the fact that most of the supporting cast of EI were in it - Al, and the other guy from the Bureau of the Lost, and the two Mr Radfords - so awesome!
Also, Mirrormask - how cracktastic is that film? It's basically Labyrinth with 21st century special effects. Love it!
In other news, I am once again attempting to educate Thlayli regarding his rich cultural heritage by reading Watership Down to him; depressingly, Fluffi-wan seems to be the only one paying attention, and that's mostly because she's trying to eat the illustrations. Though even she steers clear of John Lawrence's rather sinister full-colour picture of Woundwart. Seriously, so much worse than he looked in the film.
