When I was looking for pictures to do that pimp thing for smallfandomfest and fandom-of-one, I went on Google and typed in "dash x". As you can imagine, it brought up a lot of pictures of Jason Marsden being beautiful and having grey hair.

It also brought up a couple of pictures of My Little Ponies doing things together that My Little Ponies did not do in my day. I am finding it very hard not to be judgy about the entire internets over the fact that such a thing exists.

I am also finding it very hard not to mentally link Dash with My Little Ponies now. Something in my head looks at him now and thinks of sparkly manes and ill-advised bonnets and Dream Castle.

Oh, I miss my Dream Castle. I got it from a carboot and it was a bit scratched and the door was broken in half, but man, Johnny and I had some epic pitched battles there. I was Whistler, because she was clever and liked to read and blue was my favourite colour. He was a baby Sylvanian Families hedgehog, because he had spiky hair. Together, we fought crime. And by "crime", I mean Action Man and Gem. Those bitches always thought they could fuck with the Ponies just because they had cars and shit.

In other news, I am riddled with angst about this Fright Night remake - it looks so shit and unfunny... but Colin Farrell looks so beautiful in it... but I know that remakes are almost never good and also that Marti Noxon is a plague upon this world... but I love Colin Farrell so much... but I don't want to be hurt by him again, oh... it is very hard to be me right now. I am full of conflict.

I have a ton of screencaps that were posted on the EI community a while ago, if you still need pics of Dash or whomever.

It's cool, I already posted it with the stuff I got off Google. Could not find a shot of Gregory Itzin being Chisel for the life of me - I think I ended up using the shots from when he was the evil president on 24. Which is kind of a natural progression for Chisel.

Anything to do with My Little Ponies makes me laugh. I was already 19 when they started so was completely the wrong age to have any serious understanding of what they are about! and the thought of adult pony stuff is funny but also quite disturbing!

I loved them when I was a kid - had the ponies, the annuals, the movie on VHS, you name it. Most of them came from carboots though, and I was never able to find a Flutterpony that hadn't already had her little butterfly wings snapped off. :(

It's just... they're My Little Ponies! Of all the things it wouldn't even occur to you to sexualize...

Well, if you wanted to know what Dash X would look like as a pony I might know a place...

Anyway, the fright night remake is going to be bad, but if you go with low expectations, then it won't hurt as much.

Oh damn. What have you done? I'm totally going to end up making a Dash X MLP now.

But I was SO EXCITED when they announced it last year - Fright Night + Colin Farrell + Red Mist from Kick Ass + Jailbait Chekov + Doctor Who - how could it go wrong? And then they brought out the teaser. And the trailer. And the other trailer. And the new trailer with David Tennant. And it;s like every time, Colin Farrell was trampling our love beneath his tiny Irish feet and laughing at me.

I got into a habit a while ago of reimagining every show/film I loved with the plot of the My Little Pony special Rescue From Midnight Castle. Which I still watch, and love. So I am sort of already there. I can't tell how Dash X would probably do helping ponies fight evil. On the one hand, he goes in with an understanding of the other side's mindset. On the other hand...he's Dash X. Possibly he would need Marshall and maybe Simon to go with him to ensure a positive outcome.

I am planning to go see the Fright Night remake if it's on near me because of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and not having seen the original. Low expectations are my plan also.

Oh GREAT, now I totally want someone to write an EI/MLP crossover in which the boys are ponies and have to save Ponyland from... do they still have Smooze? Smooze was the Big Bad of Ponyland in my day. And the other ponies would just be so baffled by Dash's refusal to do pony-ish things like recycle or bake pies or sing jolly songs, and it would RULE, oh God look what you did!

I have a friend over that weekend who wants to see it for David Tennant, but I don't know if I can take the betrayal...
