in the new gravity rush game theres a time trial where you have to deliver all these newspapers within a time limit and i am so fucking bad at it, im legit just flailing about in the air and tossing out papers randomly. i never had a paper route as a kid and im glad because i would have been such a failure.

I'm playing the original Gravity Rush now, in the hopes of someday playing no. 2. If the time trials in 2 are anything like 1, you're not really supposed to be super good at them till you level your powers up a bit, I don't think.

I'm interested in how the game plays, though. I heard it's good (great), but playing it on the Vita I honestly can't imagine how you gravity shift without the motion controls. Is it just right stick?

i dont mean im not super good, i mean i tried beaning one couple with a newspaper only to watch it merrily sail off the edge of the world in completely the opposite direction. either its savagely hard or im really bad at aiming!

its an awesome game - im still getting to grips with it but the right stick is actually easier for me to use than the vita version - ymmv tho. the story is excellent and there are insomnia-inducing amounts of cool and useful collectable missions to go on.

NNNNnnn, I really want to play it, but I'm currently stuck on a secret boss in the vita version because I'm stubborn as fuck and have OCD. Although to be fair, at the moment I'm stuck into Resi 7 whenever the sun goes down anyway.

I found a combination of the right stick and motion controls pretty ideal on the vita, but the PS4 controller is a little stiffer and more precise I think - also they might just have improved it in the sequel. We'll see when I play it (I hope).

i either found a weird glitch or am just really bad at controlling my gravity powers, because i picked up one of the npcs who gives me quests and was totally unable to put her down until i restarted from my last save. everything i did, i was followed by this weird floating woman who stared blankly and didnt react even though i was throwing myself around the sky. so. creepy.

... But I think you can take as long as you want on a real paper route, and also: if gaming experience is an accurate reflection of real life skills, why am I not a wildly successful zoo owner / millionaire / adventurer / wizard yet?

(I freely confess to being generally terrible at time trials, so I avoid any games to do with 'time management'. Why can't I just take a few hours to grow/build stuff?)

if gaming experience translated into real life then i am just straight up a monster; i have massacred every sims family i ever had, i drop concrete donkeys on worms and altho im probably not that bad by the general standards of GTA players, i have burned, electrocuted, rocket launcher'd and straight up shot MILLIONS.

A potentially terrifying career criminal is you? ;)

(I should probably include 'mass murderer' on my list, too, although it was always in defense of something or another? Or uh because it was The Mission?)

terrifying, yes, but probably not terribly successful as a career criminal given my tendancy to die constantly.

The Mission is totally a valid excuse. probably. in-game it is. definitly.

concrete donkeys were a cheat weapon you could get on the PC version of worms - basically this donkey statue that took up half the screen and just smashed through everything until it fell out of sight taking the bulk of your opponents worm army with it. and it was hilarious.
