Wow, Lockwood is kind of a dick. I'm listening to the Whispering Skull audiobook, and the main police dude has hired Lockwood n co to find this thingie that peeps are killing each other over, that also independently kills peeps, and theyre at a party and Barnes (police dude) is all, oh hey Lockwood, any progress on that case that a) I am paying you to work on and b) that is costing people all across London their lives?
And Lockwood's response is basically, "Lol nope, ps also George is fat."
Even leaving aside the fact that it's a shitty thing to say about your mate when he's standing right there, YOU ARE TALKING TO A DUDE WHO HIRED YOU WHO IS ASKING FOR A PROGRESS UPDATE ON A THING HE GAVE YOU MONEY TO WORK ON. Be more professional, jeez!

(I think I read ... hm, something with a staircase? It was quite some time ago, so my memories are a bit vague, sorry.)
Also: erk. Sherlock almost sounds civil by comparison (assuming you've seen that show?).

Yeah, the narration makes a lot of how suave and charming he is. But then, the books are written from the pov of a teenage girl who goes on about how good looking he is, so maybe its a case of narrator bias? I do enjoy the stories but tbh at times he comes off as insincere and douchey to me, so its a bit jarring when Lucy is all, OMG AND THEN LOCKWOOD WAS BEING PRETTY AND TALL, and im like, "...but still a dick, though?"
Honestly, yeah, at this point Benbatch's Sherlock looks like an ideal dinner date compared to Lockwood!
