Angel wouldn't be able to compete - especially as he lacks the ability to light bulbs by putting them in his mouth.

Ilyria was violent and proactive - doesn't that sound like I'm describing Faith? :) Fred was just... slightly eccentric and moderately irritating. Maybe I'd have liked her better if she was given a more active role. All that wallflower stuff can be annoying.
